How are school bus drivers alerted to fatigue or distraction?
A driver monitoring system watches the driver with an infrared camera and gives an audio alert when it detects signs of fatigue or distraction.
Detected behaviors include eye closure, yawning, phone use, smoking and looking away from the road. A seat vibration accessory can be added, and connected models can send events to the fleet platform.

Driver camera
Standalone DMS such as MR688B or MR810 sits on the dashboard facing the driver.

Haptic alert
A vibration seat cushion adds a physical alert alongside the audio warning.

Review
Transport managers review events and follow up with drivers.
Before you deploy
- Alerts do not stop the bus; the driver remains responsible for pulling over safely.
- Test detection with drivers' eyewear and the bus's cab lighting.
