How does the MR688B detect driver fatigue without requiring physical wearables?
The MR688B uses a non-contact automotive optical sensor and patented pupil identification algorithms to continuously analyze eye blink frequency, pupil closure duration, and head nodding patterns. When fatigue indicators exceed safety thresholds, it emits immediate voice and acoustic alarms without requiring driver wearables or contact sensors.
Does the MR688B operate accurately when drivers wear sunglasses or at night?
Yes. The optical sensor integrates specialized infrared illumination that penetrates optical sunglasses and polarized driving lenses, enabling reliable pupil tracking in broad daylight as well as pitch-black night cabins without emitting visible glare.
Can the alarm be silenced when the vehicle is stationary or moving at very low speeds?
Yes. The MR688B supports connection to a GPS speed sensor module or vehicle speed pulse line. Fleet managers can configure an activation speed threshold (such as 20 km/h or 30 km/h), ensuring warnings are suppressed during parking, loading, or low-speed maneuvers.
Can MR688B connect to external fleet management systems and GPS trackers?
Yes. The unit includes RS232 serial communication and digital I/O alarm output lines. When a fatigue or distraction event is detected, it outputs trigger signals to third-party GPS tracking devices or mobile DVRs for immediate remote fleet dispatcher notification.
What is the installation process and recommended mounting location?
Installation requires approximately 15 minutes. The unit is typically mounted on the center dashboard directly facing the driver or on the lower A-pillar, positioned 60 cm to 80 cm from the driver's eyes at an angle of 15° to 20°, powered directly from the vehicle's 12V or 24V electrical circuit.
