What do IP68 and IP69K ratings mean for vehicle cameras?
Both ratings mean the camera is dust-tight. IP68 adds protection against continuous immersion in water; IP69K adds protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, such as a vehicle wash.
IP69K suits vehicles that are pressure-washed often, such as refuse trucks, mining and agricultural vehicles. The rating only holds if the connectors are sealed correctly during installation.

IP68
CC877-AHD20 is listed as IP68 for all-weather mounting.

IP69K
CC1002-BSD and CC1003-AHD20 are listed as IP69K for high-pressure washing.

IP69K metal
CC995-AHD20 is a 1080p metal camera listed as IP69K.
Good to know
- Seal cable connectors properly; a loose connector can let water in.
- Avoid aiming high-pressure jets at the lens and connector from very close range.
